Heritage Ceylon Jewellers
Since 1965, Kandy Queen has evolved from crafting traditional bridal heirlooms in Atalugama to adorning VVIP clients and the sacred Dalada Maligaya - where heritage meets luxury in every golden thread.
From a humble home workshop to the epitome of bridal luxury — weaving golden threads through Sri Lankan heritage.
In the serene village of Atalugama, Dehiowita, Mr. N.W. Somapla ignited a legacy. What started as a home-based workshop soon became the heartbeat of traditional Sinhala bridal artistry. With skilled hands and a visionary eye, he began crafting exquisite Padakkam, Thellakara, and Karamalaya — setting the gold standard for Kandy brides.
Recognizing the growing demand for authentic, high-quality bridal jewelry, Mr. Somapla transformed the workshop into a full-fledged home showroom. This milestone brought richer designs, superior quality, and a wider variety of ornaments — making every bride's dream more accessible than ever.
A new era dawned with the opening of our modern Head Office in Kottawa. Rebranded as Kandy Queen, we unveiled over 100 design categories and 10,000+ unique designs — revolutionizing Sri Lankan bridal fashion. From traditional elegance to contemporary grace, we became the ultimate destination for wedding jewelry.
To serve our growing family of brides, we opened the Kadawatha branch — a seamless blend of heritage and convenience. Now, brides in the suburbs could experience the same legendary craftsmanship, personalized service, and breathtaking collections without traveling far.
The City of Gems embraced Kandy Queen with open arms. Our Rathnapura branch became a sanctuary for brides seeking authentic, gem-studded masterpieces. By blending local gemological brilliance with our signature designs, we created jewelry that tells stories of love and legacy.
Today, Kandy Queen stands at the pinnacle of elegance — curating heirloom-quality, luxury designs for VVIP clientele. We are honored to have successfully completed the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) Special Project, a testament to our unmatched artistry and devotion. This is not just jewelry. This is heritage.
